| Notes: | Ryan Adams interview: "This was our signature song for about two months. We would only play it if we were drunk and in the mood. We wouldn’t play it if we were just kind of drunk. When we did, it was a very loud, electric version, like Neil Young. It’s a nod to Kathy Poindexter and her punk band, Picasso Trigger. Kathy was a really great punk rock personality, a great singer and a really wonderful person. She wrote a song called "Lo-Fi Tennessee Mountain Angel" about Dolly Parton, but this song is actually referring to her — Kathy — as the lo-fi Tennessee mountain angel. My fascination with her writing a really great punk rock song about Dolly Parton turned into me writing a song about discussing that with her in a bar. I ultimately decided that Kathy was the lo-fi Tennessee mountain angel, not Dolly." |
