You may want to double-check the setlist order, as my notes were hard to
decipher and I may be missing a song--there was so much distraction and
chatter, that, I went to move to a different section to hear the set, and
may have missed a tune in the process. the lighting was VERY
low--per RA I am sure. I'm surprised we did not get "To Be
Young," but that's probably why NY. NY was on the previous night's
setlist but not played: it was more likely than not, soundchecked in
Boston, IMO. RA was slugging back the wine, just walked off at the end of the set without acknowledging the crowd. To be fair, a bold move to include 3 new songs (since AFAIK, they've yet to be released), much less while opening for the Stones: whose core crowd is VERY tough on certain opening acts. Reactions were mixed, arena was not even 1/2 filled during his set. Was hoping for an onstage guestspot with Mick & Co., but maybe that will happen on Saturday (perhaps during Dead Flowers?) Not the best RA I've seen, and Bucky Baxter is definitely missed: both an excellent musician and a grounding presence. Hopefully RA will be calmer on the 18th. ZoonTheHood |
