Ryan Adams (vocals/guitar/piano/harmonica); Ruth Gottlieb
(violin/vocals); Sarah Wilson (cello/piano).
For the third time this week I watched Ryan live. He performed at the Barend en van Dorp tv show live (I was in the audience) on Dutch television. He played Sylvia Plath (with violin and cello). At the beginning of the show all performing artists (there's one live artist every night; they've had some great guests!!!) are asked to do a short piece. Ryan played something on piano with the girls backing him on cello and violin.
I spoke with Frits Barend afterwards (he is
a Ryan fan) asking why Ryan didn't show up at the drinks after the tv
show (normally all guests have a drink with the audience afterwards -
what a chance! 50 people and I was the only one who even knew Ryan
Adams!!!). He said he was very tired and drunk as well so he went back
to Amsterdam to get some sleep....
Great performance of Sylvia Plath by the
way, though I think that when you go on TV before an audience of at
least a million a more uptempo or something like dear chicago would be
more appreciated. Kees den Heijer
