| Review From a Dallas Newspaper: | |||
| Opening act Ryan Adams and his band were far more lively, hopping from heart-breaking country-blues to Stooges-style punk to “Brown Sugar.” Mr. Adams downplayed his set, calling it “barely a sideshow’’ to Ms. Morissette’s gig. But clocking in at 65 minutes, his freewheeling show felt more like the work of a headliner than a warm-up act. Though he’s earned a rep for oft-surly and boozy performances, Mr. Adams was the picture of professionalism Thursday night as he lavished praise on the audience and feted Ms. Morissette with a new (if forgettable) ballad, “Alanis.’’ He even buried the hatchet with onetime rivals the Old 97’s by declaring singer Rhett Miller’s upcoming solo album “amazing.’’ | |||
